• No, it doesn't. This TV has a very sophisticated local dimming process that does a fantastic job. It may not be full array backlight, but you won't miss it.

• The TV is edge lit. Blacks and whites are extremely black and very white. Color rendering is excellent. There is very minor light bloom.
