• Hi Lonelymonk, The voice control function is just an additional feature, you may use the remote control as a regular IR remote with control buttons. -Jerome

• No. The remote also works like a standard remote. After setting up the tv I don't use their remote. I have a Logitech Harmony remote that I use for all of my devices. It's easy to program and controls every option on tv, surround sound receiver, cable box and blur ray player. All the other remotes are in a drawer.

• I never use the voice control. I only use the Home button to select content available on the TV.
