My ARV Receiver doesn’t have the arc HDMI output, so I had.to use an optical cable and the TV connected itself fine. No insult intended, but are you sure your receiver has a specific arc sound HDMI output? If yes, then it may be your receiver needs to be reset. Sorry I can’t be of more help?

We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing audio issues with the TV while connected to your receiver. We'd love to troubleshoot the issue and make this a better experience for you. In the meantime, please follow these steps to troubleshoot the problem. · Disconnect any third-party external devices like cable boxes, satellite receivers, or gaming consoles and perform the troubleshooting steps just with the audio system connected to the TV. · Third-party devices may cause the Control for HDMI or BRAVIA Sync function of the TV and the audio device to stop working. · Update the TV and the audio system with the latest software version. · Turn on the Control for HDMI or BRAVIA Sync on both devices. · Set the ARC/eARC or TV Audio Input Mode of the audio system to On or Auto. · Note: This setting may not be available on some products. · Connect a high-speed HDMI cable to the HDMI IN (ARC or eARC) port of the TV and to the HDMI OUT (ARC or eARC) of the audio device. If the issue still occurs, please follow these steps. 1. Disconnect the HDMI cable from both devices and reconnect it. 2. On your TV, set the speaker settings to Audio System. · Note: Your audio system doesn't automatically produce sound when you connect the cable. 3. On your audio system, press the INPUT or TV button to switch the input to TV. 4. Check the OPTICAL/COAXIAL setting: Setup → Input Setup → OPTICAL/COAXIAL · If set to NONE, then change to OPT setting. 5. Turn off the TV and the audio system. 6. Turn on the TV first, then turn on the audio system. 7. On your TV speaker settings, set the Digital Audio Output to PCM. If the audio system connected to the TV doesn't support DTS or Dolby Digital, it may not output sound depending on the type of broadcast or video. Set the Digital audio out to PCM on your Android TV™device: 1. On the supplied remote, press the HOME button. 2. Select Image removed by sender. Settings. 3. Select Sound or Display & Sound. 4.
