Because of the number of variables encountered with different makes and models of automobiles, Sony is unable to assist with the installation of car stereo and mobile audio systems. However, if you are using a wiring harness, further information about the wire color and function of each pin on the wiring harness is available.

A:AnswerThe wiring harness should be able to handle steering wheel controls. You can check the Sony website to get more details. The backup camera should work if it has a compatible lead wire. My son's car had an existing aftermarket camera that was connected to the CarPlay stereo but he does not have steering wheel controls. The stereo and CarPlay features themselves have been working fine. There were a few times that Apple Music would play audio but Spotify would. Restarting the phone fixed the problem. I don't know the root cause and it happens infrequently.
