Update on the DIRECTV recognition by the Sony TV issue. The firmware update has taken place in the last week and the new firmware has resolve the issue. Really good news because I wanted to keep the TV.

A firmware update version v6.0414 is now available to resolve this issue. You should have received a notification on your TV to download the latest firmware, just make sure you have an active internet connection.
