Is this camera & zoom lens good for taking photos of hockey games? Tough sport to shoot.... it's fast, the lighting is sometimes weird and you need to often use the zoom to get close.

I haven't used it for that but attend virtually every home game and know the speed of the game. It Auto focuses faster than a DSLR in specs it says .06 seconds. Burst shots of 11 frames per second lets you get the shot. I used it on vacation and was pleased - Go Bolts!

I do not think the lenses that come with this are very good for super fast motion. The lenses aren’t a fast enough speed.
