“I have used a Sony HX400V [50x Optical zoom, 100x Digital (24-1200mm equiv.); 20.4mp] for about 2 years. Will I be disappointed with the 16-50mm & 55-210mm lenses? Is image quality much better? Please compare a6000 vs HX400V.”

Although I haven’t used both cameras, I recently got the a6000. The camera has been quite good! Having been a photographer for many years throughout film and digital photography, the a6000 is impressive for its size and age! I looked up a very useful comparison between the two cameras and based on that I would say the a6000 shouldn’t disappoint! Bigger sensor, wider ISO range, and interchangeable lenses are just a few of the advantages!
