QuestionI want to play home movies that I made about 20 years ago and converted them to a DVD format. I think CD-R. My old DVD player is getting hung up on these old DVD's. It will play for a bid then stop and most of the time won't start up again.

- Answer I have experienced similar playback issues and usually the solution is to carefully clean the DVD by running warm water over the recorded side to remove finger prints or oil. I also use a video disk cleaner to clean the player carefully, which is really just a disk with brushes to remove any dust on the laser lens. The recommendation is after 10 to 20 hours of use. Hope that helps as the only other option is to burn another disk either from original source or disk copy.

QuestionCan I hook up a Sony Bluetooth sound bar wirelessly to this? I have a projector application where I can not run any wire from speaker to player and need everything to be wireless. Will this perform well? Thanks

- Answer Yes it has built in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. It works well with my Bluetooth speaker. Using with another Sony product should allow blue-ray remote control to control the sound bar as well.

- Answer Yes it supports Miracast which is native to Windows 10. Other OSes may be compatible with the proper app. iOS does not support Miracast.

- Answer If you live in the United States, Sony video players that are sold in the US can support the NTSC video format and Region 1 discs. The players are not able to play/record in the PAL or SECAM video format. One reason is, you cannot alter or override the REGION CODE which in turn you cannot make the player support another video format. However, if you live in the region of Europe, most of Asia and Africa, and parts of South America. PAL format is often used in these areas in which it was adopted.

QuestionI am old school have a collection of old DVD's and regular Blue Ray. Not interested in 4k. I have the Sony Model BDP-S590, which worked great for my needs but now is defective. My DVD's are freezing and skipping when played. Is this a good replacement?

- Answer It will upconvert your current collection to 4k rez. It is small and will seem cheaper than your old player~ no screen, has a small, basic remote, but will definitely do the job.
