The HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) standard is designed to transmit both high-quality digital video and multi-channel digital audio through a single cable. As long as you connect the HDMI cable from the player to an HDMI input on your TV (or sound system), you do not need to connect a separate audio cable.
