Versatile Blue-Ray, DVD and CD player
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the little Sony 1700U Blue-Ray player to replace my 2014 Toshiba dvd/vcr player. The small size stacks easily above the cable receiver. Easy setup with accompanying HDMI cable. I like that I can pop in a music CD without having to load the multi disc player and the sound is great. So far the dvd playback is crisp and clear.

It works great, I got it refurbished and it works and looks like it’s brand new. The online ordering and pickup process made it super easy to get in and out with exactly what I was looking for. I’ve recently gotten into collecting physical media so this is a great way to be able to watch them and continue to grow my film collection. Highly recommend this player

Excellent BluRay / DVD player.

I do not have a 4K TV, so this model was in the perfect price point for me. I selected this model also because it has the audio connection options I needed to connect it to my home theater system. It works great and the sound and video quality are great. It is easy for my spouse and kids to operate as well. An excellent value and I would highly recommend this brand and model.

Wasn’t the one I wanted but…

I wanted to buy a Samsung because it matches my TV and other things that I have. Sorry I bought the Sony. And it’s working just fine. I’m not having trouble with it. I haven’t used it a lot yet, but call me when I have it worked about this one.

Sony Blu ray/DVD upscaler player

Both would not eject,the power would not turn off. I tried and tried physically and using the remote and both of them would not work.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this is my second dvd player. coming from an older version that was made in 2015 this home screen is pretty basic. the old one had apps so can use like netflix or youtube so the home screen looks inviting. this dvd player home screen it just black with just the option to start the movie or load the usb drive, so i can understand when people say they connot see the main menu. when I put in a dvd the old 2015 version will tell me it's analyzing it dvd, please wait and ready to start. this version doesn't give any warning so i pretty much pray if the movie works (lol) so if there's a situation when a movie disc can't work idk if it's because the dvd itself or the dvd player. For some reason on the home screen after it reads a disc some of my movie shows a yellow picture option to start playing, others blue. idk what that means I hope some of my movies are not bootlegs (I did buy some off of Ebay lol). maybe it's supposed to be a fun feature this system offers... but yeah, I don't understand that. this one is probably a positive feature for you, but to me it's annoying. it has so many buttons to rewind or fast forward. There's the basic one to go to the next scene or back, one to rewind or fast forward slowly, then a 15 second option to go back and forth. who needs a 15 second count. it's annoying when I watch a movie at night and can't see the remote. if you have any extra remotes to a previous Sony DVD player like me, it will work on this as well, so I tend to switch the remote since the old remote is very basic and easy to use, Ending with positive feedback, the picture quality is amazing, it's like I'm watching the same movie for the first time again. This is what makes the price worth it. I would recommend this for people who want very a basic dvd player

I love Sony products, especially Sony DVD players, TVs, and Blu-ray players. I own many and all are outstanding and this model is no exception. Infact my Sony XBR TV that i bought in 2008 at Bestbuy has a superior picture to my friends Samsung bought in 2018...i kid you not. This Sony Blu-ray has a small footprint which is exactly what i wanted. It also comes with a HDMI cable included free. It has all the latest digital processing including upscale of DVDs. Sony on screen menus are the best and easiest to navigate.
