This receiver model does not have HD Radio.

The specs on Best Buy site say "Receivers With HD Radio Yes", which seems to imply this unit receives and decodes stations with HD digital radio signal. Well, I'm here to tell you that seems to be factually incorrect. My previous Pioneer single DIN unit featured HD radio reception as a feature, and it indicated the digital signal with a "D" and you can tell that the sound has much better quality and clarity with the digital reception. This Sony unit does not have any of that. Sony's site also says nothing about HD digital radio as a feature for this unit. If this unit really did have HD digital radio as a feature, Sony's website for this product would surely mention, BUT IT DOESN'T, so therefore, it doesn't feature HD digital radio reception / decoding and playback. Otherwise, bluetooth connectivity, music playback with phone seems ok, calls seem okay too.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.HD Radio broadcasts on the same frequency as standard radio so all you do is tune to the broadcast frequency of the station and it will be in HD as long as that station broadcasts in HD.
