Thank you, sir! I went ahead and bought this boombox, and I really like it! The portable sound is rather "small" (as expected), but when I hook it into my music room system, it sounds quite nice! The ultimate answer to my question is "no"; the only outward function of the USB jack is digital recording. I have to use the headphone jack for playing music directly through any other system, but as I say, it works well in this manner. Best regards!
