I own this camera and always use the electronic shutter option. Why? Because at 24 shots/sec. high speed bursts, I would wear out the mechanical shutter in a year or two! Importantly, the RX10 MK4's electronic shutter has a nice-functioning software that virtually eliminates the dreaded "rolling shutter" effect!
