Great gear for long zoom
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. As a 1 inch cmos digital camera it surprised me! Yes comparing to other 1 in cmos cameras it’s not cheap but it captures stunning pics! I have been waiting for

Still a great camera in 2022
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This camera is fantastic at allow you to use the zoom and get pictures of nature and candid street scenes also. If you are new to cameras this one makes it pretty easy. If you don't want to figure it out yourself just turn it to "automatic" for pictures and it comes out great. If you want a little more fun turn the dial to "scene" and choose one of those. If you want to take video it gets a bit more complicated but nothing a quick youtube video won't solve and you will have great video as well.

Worth the Upgrade
||Posted .I upgraded to the RX10 iv from the model iii prior to a photography trip to Costa Rica and am very glad I did. Autofocusing was noticeably faster than the previous model. I came home with great shots of birds in motion as well as macro shots of tiny frogs and telephoto shots of far off animals. I was the only Sony camera user among the group of Canon and Nikon DSLR afficionados and feel that my camera performed as well, if not better than the most of the others. And without the hassle of hauling extra lenses. The Model iii is an excellent camera but upgrading to the iv was worth it to me for the quicker autofocus.

Excellent Camera

One camera that does it all - and very well!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. At age 77, dragging around a DSLR camera with a heavy 100-400mm lens (for wildlife photography) was getting to be too much. The RX10iv solved this problem and I'm back to getting great bird shots - that 600mm equivalent reach is really nice.. This will also be a super travel camera, once we get past this virus problem. Looking forward to that. Overall, I am very pleased with this camera and the excellent results it produces.

Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta 2022 Photos, and other
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. The RX10 IV is remarkable!!! Autofocus is faster than fast. Image quality is unbelievable and color saturation is outstanding. Wish I would have bought this sooner!!!

Great all around Camera!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This camera has exceeded my expectations, the auto focus is very fast and accurate. Image quality is better then expected for a small sensor with long focal length. between the auto focus and image quality this is a better choice than other cameras with more focal length!
I would recommend this to a friendRated 5 out of 5 stars
Great camera.
||Posted .Camera has a real good hand grip for your right hand. Auto focus is fast, pictures turn out sharp. That 600mm lens comes in handy! A lot of times subjects change & you just don’t have time to change lenses. RX10 Mark 4 is my only camera. I take photos of sunsets, Deer & at Church to mention a few. This camera is really not that heavy for a 600mm lens. I’m not a professional, just an advanced amateur. Very happy with this camera!
I would recommend this to a friend

Sony RX10 IV ReviewIn the dying days of 2013, Sony launched the RX10, a camera which was lauded for bringing together the heady mix of a powerful, fixed zoom lens, and a much larger-than-average 1-inch type image sensor, as seen previously in its pocket-friendly

Q: QuestionCan zoom be adjusted manually or do you have to let a motor in the camera adjust the focal length?
Asked by Visitant.
- A:Answer It has a W/T lever near the shutter button for motorzed zoom, or you can use the ring on the lens. (Use both so the motor does most of the work and then you fine tune with the ring). In settings you can switch the inner and outer lens rings to choose which is zoom and which is focus

Q: QuestionIs there any shutter lag? I understand that the auto focus is quite fast, but I shoot a lot of action and am a "decisive moment" sort of photographer. I'm currently shooting with a D500, but am attracted to the zoom range and features of this camera.
Asked by Visitant.
- A:Answer The zoom range is fantastic for telephoto. Just be aware the widest angle is a 24mm equivalent. There is no shutter lag. You may also shoot 24fps bursts to make sure you capture the right moment. The AF is so fast, it keeps the subject in focus throughout. I chose this camera over a DSLR so I don't have to worry about carrying lenses and changing lenses. I have been very happy with this camera for travel, nature and wildlife pics. I captured everything I wanted to on my overseas trip, from a wedding to hiking to family photos. It was easy to get great photos of birds and bats from a distance. Kids are the hardest to capture because they move fast. This camera always kept up with them.

Q: QuestionI am having the worst time with this camera focusing. Also zoom does not seem 100x. I have a Sony DSC400 hx 50x zoom that zooms further. I have this extended to 600mm +4 . What should I have the button on down where it says C S DM M for zoom?
Asked by wannabephotographer.
- A:Answer The internet is full of people willing to share how to set up the Sony rx10 iv. To make use of Clear Image Zoom, you cannot use RAW format, just jpg. So, camera ! page 1, set the quality to extra fine so the image size would be L:20M. Make use of all the megapixels you can. Camera2 page 6/10, change the zoom setting to On:ClearImage Zoom. Now you are set. On the screen it will show that when you zoom out to 600mm, it can go more and will show x2 when you reach the max of 1200mm. From 600mm to 1200mm is when ClearImage Zoom is activated. As for the focusing, there are many different metering modes, multi, center, large spot or standard, entire screen, or highlight. Focusing mode had wide, center, flexible spot large, medium, small, expand flexible spot, or lock on AF:expand flexible spot. Experiment.

Q: QuestionIs there a preferred Zeiss lens for this camera? Thanks!
Asked by JW.
- A:Answer It is a fixed lens camera not interchangeable lens, so that lens it has is the only Zeiss lens you can use.

Q: QuestionDoes the RX10 Mk4 have a life expectancy associated with the number of shutter clicks?
Asked by Mike.
- A:Answer I own this camera and always use the electronic shutter option. Why? Because at 24 shots/sec. high speed bursts, I would wear out the mechanical shutter in a year or two! Importantly, the RX10 MK4's electronic shutter has a nice-functioning software that virtually eliminates the dreaded "rolling shutter" effect!

Q: QuestionSo I understand the more memory your card can hold the longer your time to record extends. What is the highest GB this camera could hold? Thanks
Asked by Sam.
- A:Answer I use the SanDisk 256GB Extreme Pro SD card. It’s fairly priced and provides writing and reading speeds near 95MB/s. It’s a card I recommend for almost every camera that costs under $2000, because of it’s great price to performance ratio. You get one of these and it’s yours for years. The speed makes it perfect for whatever you’re doing; fast bursts with large megapixel cameras, 4K video, let alone Full HD. It comes in 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB sizes. It is hands down the best choice for the Sony RX10 IV!
