  • Key Specs
    • Image Sensor Size: APS-C (23.6 x 15.7 mm)
    • Effective Pixels: 26 megapixels (The actual number of pixels which make up the viewable image.)
    • Standardized Video Resolution: 4K (2160p) (An approximated measurement of the product’s video resolution. This may not be the exact resolution of the product, which may be slightly more or less when using a pixel-by-pixel measurement.)
  • General
    • Brand: Sony
    • Model Number: ILCE6700M/B
    • Product Name: Alpha 6700 - APS-C Mirrorless Camera with E 18-135 mm Lens
    • Color: Black
    • Product Set: Camera with E 18-135 mm Lens
    • Camera Model Family: Sony a6700
    • Digital Camera Type: Mirrorless Camera with Lens
  • Imaging
    • Image Sensor Type: BSI CMOS (CCD and CMOS are the two main technologies used in image sensors. CCD, the older of the two types, turns analog light signals into digital pixels. This conversion happens without distortion, resulting in high-quality images. Newer CMOS sensors use transistors at each pixel to move electrical charges. CMOS sensors are typically less expensive, but also require more light to create distortion-free images.)
    • Image Sensor Size: APS-C (23.6 x 15.7 mm)
    • Total Pixels: 26 megapixels (Generally, the more pixels, the higher the image resolution and the finer the detail that can be seen.)
    • Image Resolution (Display): 1366 x 768 (Refers to the number of pixels, both horizontally and vertically, used to either capture an image or display it. The higher the resolution the finer the image details.)
    • Zoom Capability: true (This function allows for magnification of the subject.)
    • Digital Zoom: 4x (A digital zoom is accomplished electronically, with no adjustment of the camera's optics, and no optical resolution gained in the process. The existing data is not enhanced or added to, merely displayed at a lower resolution, thereby giving an illusion of an enlarged image.)
    • In-Camera Image Stabilization: true (This feature helps reduce image blurring from camera motion. In-camera stabilization means the image sensor itself moves to counteract detected motion.)
    • Low Light/High Sensitivity: true (High sensitivity digital imaging devices are designed to work in low light conditions to produce a high dynamic range image.)
    • Image File Format(s): JPEG, HEIF, RAW, MP4 (Standardized software format(s) of storing digital images. The type of format chosen for capturing and compressing the image can determine quality, level of detail, and storage space required.)
  • Focus
    • Autofocus: true (Allows the camera to automatically focus through the lens, rather than by adjusting the lens manually.)
    • Eye Autofocus (Eye AF): true (Automatically seeks out and focuses on the subject's eye and holds it as the camera and subject move and as the photographer shoots at high frame rates.)
    • Number of Autofocus Points (Up To): 793
  • Exposure Control
    • Shutter Speeds: 1/8000 to 30 seconds, Bulb (The length of time the shutter remains open when the shutter release is activated, expressed in fractions of seconds. The longer the shutter is open, the more light that is able to be captured by the camera sensor.)
    • Minimum Aperture: f/36 (The smallest opening of a lens, typically expressed in f-numbers. The larger the number, the smaller the aperture and the less light that can enter the lens. A smaller aperture creates a larger depth of field, which keeps both foreground and background in focus.)
    • Maximum Aperture: f/3.5 (The limit to how wide a lens can be open, typically expressed in f-numbers. The smaller the number, the larger the aperture and the more light that can enter the lens. A larger aperture creates a shallower depth of field, helpful for keeping subjects in focus and blurring background details.)
    • Minimum ISO: 125 (ISO is the measurement of a camera image sensor's light sensitivity. When there is plenty of light, using the lowest ISO setting available will typically result in a higher quality image.)
    • Maximum ISO: 32000 (ISO is the measurement of a camera image sensor's light sensitivity. In low-light environments, using a higher ISO setting helps to capture a sharp, bright image.)
    • Maximum Expandable ISO: 102400 (ISO is the measurement of a camera image sensor's light sensitivity. Expandable ISO settings use software to simulate brighter images than the device's native ISO range is capable of capturing.)
    • Brightness Control: true (Allows the camera to adjust the brightness of a captured image for optimal exposure.)
    • Burst Mode: true (Also referred to as continuous shooting. This feature captures multiple shots in rapid succession.)
    • Burst Rate: 11 frames per second
    • Self Timer: true
    • Self-Timer Delay: 2 seconds, 5 seconds, 10 seconds
    • Shooting Modes: Auto/ProgramAuto/P/A/S/M (Exposure modes employed by the photographer to control the optimal aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and other settings for capturing specific subjects/scenes. Examples include Aperture-Priority, Macro, and Manual modes.)

    • Effective Pixels: 26 megapixels (The actual number of pixels which make up the viewable image.)
  • Lens
    • Lens Mount Compatibility: Sony E-Mount
    • Lens Type: Standard Zoom
    • Minimum Focal Length: 18 millimeters (The minimum distance between the lens and the image sensor that allows the subject to be in focus. The shorter the focal length, the greater the area of scene captured.)
    • Maximum Focal Length: 135 millimeters (The maximum distance between the lens and the image sensor that allows the subject to be in focus. The greater the focal length, the smaller the area of scene captured.)
    • In-Lens Image Stabilization: true (This feature helps reduce image blurring from camera motion. Lens stabilization means an element within the lens moves automatically to counteract detected motion.)

    Best creator’s camera!!

I’ve been using the Sony a6700 for a few weeks now, and it’s hands down one of the most impressive APS-C mirrorless cameras I’ve tried. The autofocus is lightning fast and incredibly accurate, especially for tracking subjects in motion. Image quality is sharp with great dynamic range, and the colors straight out of the camera are vibrant and natural. The addition of AI-based subject recognition makes a noticeable difference, especially for video work. Speaking of which, the 4K 120fps video is a game changer — smooth, detailed, and perfect for slow-motion footage. I also appreciate the improved ergonomics and the flip-out screen, which makes vlogging or self-shooting much easier. Battery life is solid, the menu system feels more intuitive than older Sony models, and the build quality is rugged yet lightweight. Overall, the a6700 strikes an excellent balance between professional performance and portability — an ideal choice for hybrid shooters and content creators alike.

    Great Camera

I purchased the camera online and took delivery at my local Best Buy. While there, I also purchased an on sale camara backpack. Anyway, Best Buy made the purchase process painless, and my local Best Buy Geek Squad rocked my pickup experience. The camara: A6700 with 18mm-135mm lens The camera takes great pictures and videos. I do recommend going through all the settings to get items configured just the way you like them. I watched an online video that guided me through the settings on a video streaming platform. I've had great fun capturing landscapes, portraits, flowers, insects, and whatever else catches my eye while I have the camera on-hand. I really like how small and light it is. It's easy to carry in a small backpack without my shoulders getting sore after carrying it all day. I did connect it (by USB-C) to my laptop and used it for video passthru. It does get hot doing that. It did not complain about overheating after my 1hr meeting. It is possible I missed a setting that might impact heat management. Still, it does what I need it to do. If I find I need a longer recording time, I may purchase a fan cooling attachment. If you don't need a full-frame camera this is the Sony camera to get.
