    • Digital Camera Type: Point and Shoot Cameras
  • Imaging
    • Image Sensor Type: CMOS (CCD and CMOS are the two main technologies used in image sensors. CCD, the older of the two types, turns analog light signals into digital pixels. • Viewfinder Type: Electronic (A viewfinder is the part of a camera (or attachment) that allows you to see and focus a scene in frame. Optical viewfinders let you view the scene directly through the lens. Electronic viewfinders display the image on a screen in its approximate final form.)
    • Varying Angle Screen: true (The camera's screen can be flipped out and adjusted to rotate, tilt, and/or swivel.)

Nikon P950 is a Great Bridge Camera

I purchased this Nikon P950 to have a "real camera" to take on a trip to Alaska, that I didn't have to carry around a lot of gear. So far, I have photographed the solar eclipse, the full moon, pet and family portraits, and macros of the bluebonnets. Have to say, the sharpness and detail is excellent for a bridge camera. The lens zoom is absolutely phenomenal. I love that attaching the camera to your phone downloads the photos straight to your phone via the SnapBridge App which then uploads to the cloud. I also purchased a USB-C card reader in case the bluetooth connection is poor. The camera is a bit weighty but so much lighter than my DSLR. Still getting to know all the features and controls available. Overall very pleased with my purchase.

    Nice upgrade from the P900...

This was a well-needed upgrade from the Nikon P900 and much more compact than the bulky P1000. Its kind of a combination of both, hence the P950 label. The viewfinder is a nice update. Much easier to see your photos before and after the shot. It also shoots in RAW format, and you have quick access to exposure compensation with a new dial on the left side of the camera. The "moon mode" is a nice option for those moon shots. It also shoots in 4K @ 30fps or 1080 @ 60 video. I wish it was weather and dust proof, as it's a great hiking camera being somewhat light and compact for a 2000mm zoom. The image stabilization is very impressive. A great asset when you're at 2000mm zoom. I'd say @ $799, it's a lot of bang for the buck. I wish it had a larger sensor, and maybe 20MP over 16MP, but from a value standpoint, Nikon did well. Five stars to both BestBuy (Chapel Hill Store) and Nikon.

    Awesome camera!

Used it several times took it at stumpy lake natural area trails in virginia beach and this camera shoots clear photos and videos. I would suggest to use a tripod or monopod when zooming in on a subject for better stability and avoid shakiness. I also purchased an aftermarket remote control online to avoid touching the camera when taking videos and stills for better clarity. Overall, im happy with my purchase and will recommend this camera!
