“Sony has announced the release date for this lens as October 11th. Is there a reason why Best Buy still shows it as unannounced? I was wondering if I can still expect this to be delivered by the 11th if I pre-ordered it already.”

Probably late answer, but these are readily available in store, however they were beginning to run low on stock.
