The one I got was the first generation. The newer ones have built-in headphones and slightly higher picture quality.

You can buy the headset different, (you need this to see the images), you can buy the camera separate (which tracks your movement) and you can buy the controllers separate (which you need for certain games such as creed). So depending on what you preferance is you can get them separate.

Please try again later.From the looks of the cables in the pictures, this is v1 of the psvr. v1 doesn't have hdr passthru (which is only an issue if you have an HDR tv AND play flat, many people have a tough time going back to traditional gaming after playing vr) and the controls are on the left side cord of the headset. v2 I believe was bundled with skyrim and that came with the moves and camera if I recall correctly. For this one you'll need to purchase the ps4 camera separately unless you already have it, or get it preowned somewhere else. The camera is necessary to track vr. I'd suggest getting the 2 yr extended warranty on any psvr headset, just because there is a put on, take off with it.
