Hi Karklebapper, Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, you cannot use the HDMI input of the soundbar to connect your Chromecast. The HDMI input of the soundbar is only compatible to use with the HDMI ARC input of a TV. Hope this helps! -Sam
