Hi Les1049, Thank you for your inquiry. If your TV connect via HDMI arc to the soundbar and control for HDMI function turned on, then you should be able to control the volume of the soundbar using the TV remote control. However, we cannot guarantee the operation for third-party remote control. Hope this helps! -Sam
