I have a Sony TV as well, I’m not sure the model. My TV remote works to adjust the volume on the sound bar but it still has a maximum limit. Depending on what you’re using to watch TV, wether it’s a cable box or a streaming device, there may be sound settings to adjust there. Look at what the speaker output is and make sure it’s set to external speaker stereo options. There shouldn’t be that many, you can try to cycle through those and see what happens? Definitely should not be lower volume than the speakers in the TV. Might need to call geek squad back.

To ensure you're getting the optimal listening experience, please follow these guidelines: For the best bass performance when listening to TV and movie content, we recommend the Cinema Mode. We recommend Music mode if you are listening to music. The subwoofer’s bass can be increased or decreased a total of 12 steps on the remote. Hope this helps! -Sam
