Hi rodin66, thank you for your inquiry. When you are watching movies, you may hear the sound with a slight delay from the image only when connected via Bluetooth. So the best connection can be optical or HDMI as long as it is a wired connection. It is shown as an output because the HDMI port of the soundbar is labeled as HDMI OUT TV ARC. Hope this helps! -Sam
