Hi Shirl, Thank you for purchasing the Sony HTS350 soundbar. If your LG TV supports optical connection then there is no need for you to purchase an HDMI cable. You can use the supplied Optical cable to connect this soundbar to your TV. You can also use an HDMI cable but you will need to purchase it separately. Hope this helps! -Sam
