Hi FutureSoutherner, Thank you for your question! Sony OTC devices are sold and must be setup as a pair but it is possible to only use one device after setup. There are instances when customers may only wish to use one hearing aid but we encourage you to follow up with a local hearing care or medical professional if you are experiencing asymmetric hearing loss.
