“Are they okay to use for phone calls that are not on speaker? Like can I put my phone up to my ear to make a normal call or will it cause interference/hurt my ears?”

You can’t listen to phone calls via Bluetooth because the Sony CRE-C20 hearing aids to not offer Bluetooth. However, I have no problem putting my phone up to my ear as normal. Works great!
