Does this unit works with a 1080 TV (not 4K TV)? null

Yes it does, at least with my 1080p projector.

Just purchased the SONY UBPX700 4K Ultra, and it plays BOTH 1080 Blu-Ray AND 4K disks. Debuted it with our new SONY OLED 65" 4K OLED television and provides amazing clarity. We love it!
