“What is the player/remote like? Is it cumbersome or is it really easy to use, fast and Intuitive? We have a player now that we hate because it is slow to play, slow to respond and the remote is cumbersome with buttons that do nothing. Thoughts?”

Most of the buttons are used to navigate the features of the player and Blu-Ray menus. You can see from the pic that there are 2 small buttons at the top to turn TV on or change it's input signal to the DVD. There is also a dedicated Netflix button -not useful if you don't have a Netflix account. See the image below.
