“Do I have to update the software at some point using internet conecction or I can just play movies all the time without asking me to upgrade anything in the software?”

This my 2nd unit which I have had for a few weeks (does not ask for updates). The 1st unit which is identical I have had 6 months to a year and it never demanded a firmware update (although neither have been connected to the WIFI).

However, I believe it would be important to be able to do that when an important firmware update is issued. I think that someone at Best Buy could answer this more definitely.
