• As long as you know your hot spot password and have good signal strength it should work. I use a wireless hot spot with mine.

• Yes you can use the mobile hotspot with this player. However, a hotspot is limited to a certain speed by the operators. Therefore, the required speed by the streaming device is not met. Additionally, Sony products that support Internet connectivity are designed to work with cable or DSL high-speed networks.

• we use our phone as a hotspot as well when we are at our cabin. works great as long as we have cell service
