QuestionPURCHASED SONY DIG. VOICE RECORDER ICDUX560BLK SKU5018200 RECEIVED UNIT BY MAIL JUST NOW. THE RECORDER IS THERE BUT IS THERE ANYTHING MORE I NEED TO RECORD A TELEPHONE CONVERSATION WITHOUT CONNECTING TO COMPUTER?

- Answer Hello BUD! In order to record from an external source you either place the call in speaker and press the record button to use the internal microphone on the Voice recorder or you can connect the audio out of your telephone if available and use the Microphone port on the recorder, keep in mind that the cord needs to be purchased separately. QuestionI heard that its lithium-ion can only last two to three years, even if gadgets are sitting on a shelf unused. So, what can I do if the battery ends? Do you sell the battery separately? I want to buy and use this one for a very long-term.

- Answer Yes I was able to use it with Dragon Naturally Speaking 13 on first day - it recognized the device and work very well. Even was able to train Dragon with it. Not sure if this version of Dragon that you have - but it work for me You can transfer recording to PC using Sony software also and then read it in.

QuestionLooking to dictate family history info - no music. Want the best device available, with hand-held off/on, easy playback and override, lots of capacity and ability to transfer to PC. A bonus: if device allows PC to turn recorded words to written words.

- Answer Has voice activation for easy on/off recording. Dictation software to turn words to written text can be purchased separately online but does not come with. Most software I’ve found is either expensive or very faulty though.

- Answer Battery life (built-in rechargeable battery) will depend on your application and format you record in. Entire device plugs directly into a USB port on a computer or to any USB recharging device. Probably would take about an hour to fully recharge if the device's battery was depleted.

QuestionI read over the specs online for this voice recorder (ICD-UX560) and it supposed to come with a pouch. I just received my order a few days ago and I did NOT receive a pouch. Perhaps someone forgot to pack the pouch in the package prior to sending it???
