I don't know how they fair on a plain, but the Sony Headphones app has an option where you can lower the sound quality a little bit in order fo a much more stable connection. The earbuds connect to the Bluetooth of your phone and can be remembered so it can automatically connect when you take them out of their case. You don't need to always open the app to connect them the app is just for sound customization of the earbuds.
