• They create a quieter environment, i.e., muffle sound, but not completely silent. I wear these on above- and below-ground trains and notice a positive difference when I turn them on but do not expect that they will block all sounds. In fact, I can hear others' conversations and PA announcements even with music on. That's actually a plus because I need to be aware of what's going on.

• I wish i had read these reviews before i bought this. No, the noise reduction so far is not anything more than any other padded headphones would give. Very disappointed. Also hard to get wireless to work.
