inner cup is 1 1/2 inches ; total outside of ear piece is a scant 3 inches . husband is a big guy and he is happy with the fit , I am small gal and they work for me too . the overall size of this set is smaller than the last ones we had that worked well for sound but they were bulky and they felt like it too . I recommend these new ones for their size and voice clarity . Terry
