Do you cut the headphones off when you put them down in the charger? null

Just turn the headphone off and then place it in the recharger unit. Make sure you go through this step. I left mine on and then it ran out of juice during the 2nd night of watching TV. You'll know whether you've done it correctly. If you place them in the charger and the light glows red then you've done it correctly. If it glows green then your headphone is still on.

No, they cut off automatically when put on charger. Also, left right does not matter. Very easy to use.
