“Vizio tv. Magnavox dvd/vcr. Sony rd headphones. I like to listen to audio from tv when tv itself is turned off. Running component cables from tv audio out, to dvd/vcr audio in, then DVD/vcr audio out to headphones in. Why is this not working?”

I'm guessing the BB guy didn't fully understand the wiring or component issue. You CAN use these with any analog component audio out - doesn't have to be TV at all. However, on many VIZIO TVs, the audio out is dead if there's no power. Many people plug the component cables directly from a cable box to the headphone transmitter. In that way, you'd always have the audio whether or not the TV has power at all... and could bypass the DVD/VCR issue altogeher. Hope this helps!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the exact problem. I went to 2 different Best Buys and spoke to the "Go to Guy" at both locations, provided them pictures of the back of my components and they said it is impossible because these headphones are to be used with the TV only.
