• Yes ! That is the reason I have these. My wife hates sound at night and I watch TV, I lay right next to her and she can't hear anything. These are awesome.

• Yes, It is good for one hard of hearing person and someone else that doesn't want the TV so loud or doesn't want to hear it at all.
