Your splitter is not a full stereo splitter. It sounds like it's a mono channel splitter. You'll need either a stereo 3.5mm splitter or two RCA y-splitters (one for each channel).

However, I can use my second set with my first set in the living room since they both are on the same frequency. In another words, both headsets can be used on one television.
