Hi rankjack. No, the fingerprint sensor is not enabled. Apparently Sony disables it for the US market, no clue about the reason why. It has facial recognition though, and it works very well.

Unfortunately no, because of a weird patent issue, the sensor isn't enabled in American models. On the upside, it's easy to re-enable it, no matter which version of the phone you have. There's a bunch of tutorials that are easy to find.

No. Turns out they don't sell smartphones with the sensor functioning in the US for reasons. It has the function but is disabled and you have to do some techy stuff to it to get it enabled again.

No it’s not. All North America Sony phones come with the fingerprint scanners disabled due to some government issues sony has with them importing phones here. Phone also does not have WiFi calling.
