I suggest you check the LG website for compatibility because I let the Best Buy guys align the stack kit with my washer / dryer:

A:AnswerYes, you most likely will have to buy a new one. I recently replaced a similar aged washer/dryer and needed to buy a new stacking kit. Even if the old one still worked, safety wise it is probably a good idea to replace it regardless.

Please visit our site at http://www.lg.com/us/front-load-washers and you can review the following models: WM3180CW, WM3270CW, WM3370HWA, WM4370HWA, and WM3670HWA. You can stack the DLE5977W onto any of these using the LG 27" Stacking Kit, Model # KSTK1. If your still have your stacking kit, you may be able to use that. You can then check to see if Best Buy carries some of those models or all of them...^IFV

A:AnswerYou don't need more clearance in the back to use this stacking kit but it is chrome and is very visible taking away the look of your machine. That's what I don't like about it yet it does work well. I don't know if it would fit your model but would recommend calling the maker and inquiring. Hope this helped a bit. The color is what I don't like about it myself as it IS visible.
