I asked a Best Buy customer support agent and they said that the code will be emailed 72 hours before the pre-order street date (Sept. 1) to assist in downloading before its released.

I realize the date has come and gone, I'm wondering now, when the codes will be sent out and if there will even be a pre-load time.

The code should be sent out on the 1st as that is the release date of the game. Pre download is live now and does not require the code to do.
