This is a great question. Unfortunately, I don’t believe this is appropriate to ask the general public. Please inquire with your doctor to discuss any concerns related to this pad and medical conditions.

If you are a Paraplegic, Quadriplegic, Diabetic, or one insensitive to heat (someone with poor circulation) it is not recommended that you use a Sunbeam heating pad for the following reasons: 1. It is conceivable that a person with delicate skin, who does not have normal sensitivity to heat, could be injured by prolonged exposure to heat or fire if the wiring or cord set was damaged. 2. Normally, persons with these types of disabilities would suffer greater injury than others, and their recovery could be significantly prolonged. For safety reasons, we do not recommend our heating pad product be used if you have one of the conditions described above. Hope this information is useful. Have a great day!
