It can be dietetic friendly if you set it on low and for the minimum time. You’ll have to be careful because you do have an option to keep it on all the time.

As with all heating devices, we each have to accept responsibility for ourselves and watch heat. This unit has the options of multiple heat levels with the option of an auto off after 2 hrs (I believe) or an over ride for leaving heat on.

If you are a Paraplegic, Quadriplegic, diabetic, or one insensitive to heat (someone with poor circulation) it is not recommended that you use a Sunbeam heating pad for the following reasons: 1. It is conceivable that a person with delicate skin, who does not have normal sensitivity to heat, could be injured by prolonged exposure to heat or fire if the wiring or cordset was damaged. 2. Normally, persons with these types of disabilities would suffer greater injury than others, and their recovery could be significantly prolonged. For safety reasons, we do not recommend our heating pad product be used if you have one of the conditions described above. Hope this information is useful. Have a great day!
