• Susan, I started photography about 10 months ago with a used Cannon SL1 and a used lens. Purchasing good lenses is key to good photos regardless of the low or high end of the camera. Good luck!

• Not at all. This Tamron is not a high dollar lens and should do good with the T3i. I had to get an adapter to hook it to my Sony a6000. Your Canon will be a direct hookup and should do well...

• In my opinion no. Remember it is compatible with higher end Canon cameras so if you decide to move up it will work
