The aspect ratio of the 50-inch TCL is very wide, slightly wider than old 48-inch flatscreen aspect ratios; because of this fact, the distance from bottom edge of the set to the top edge of the set is actually shorter (by about 1" to 1 1/2") than old 48-inch flatscreens.
