Roku replaces cable and you just need an internet connection for it. Keep in mind that Roku is just an interface with channels for popular streaming services, e.g. Hulu, Netflix, YouTube TV, Pandora, Spotify, Sling, etc. As such, you will need to have (or create) subscriptions with whatever streaming service(s) you wish to use to obtain the content that you like.
