“I want to record a CD using a Daywind Soundtracks CD w/o vocals and provide my own vocals using a microphone. Can this be done using this recorder? I'm guessing I would need a CD player for the soundtrack CD.”

You'll need some sort of small mixing board with a mic input. The TEAC will make the CD, once you funnel the mixed sound into it.
