No, if you move the pot the electromagnets beneath the pot are activated. The problem is the circuit boards don't last long and are very expensive to replace.

Please try again later.If I understand your question - if you move a pot off of the surface completely and then replace it within a very short period of time with the same pot, it will pick up with the settings you already had. It will not turn off any other pot. If you replace the pot and it is different or the time is excessive, it will require that you set the power again. If you simply pick it up and place it elsewhere on the surface it will register it and depending on how far of a move, may make you make a selection on the screen moving the power settings to the new location from the old (it will actually say something like "move here?" It is extremely easy to use and is an incredible device concept.
