• Only if it's constantly running. I'd install the battery that goes between the camera and the car's power to accomplish this. It won't turn on if there is no power.

• The U1000 offers Parking Mode with Motion and Impact Detection. To enable Parking Mode, the Dash Cam must be hardwired or using the OBD Cable, or using the external battery. This will allow the Dash Cam to keep running even when the vehicle is off.
