You can. It will require a tuning adapter and a cable card provided by Spectrum so you will be able to receive all of your subscribed channels. But yes, you can use this dvr in place of theirs.

They refused to rent them to me for my TiVo's when they changed their name from Brighthouse to Spectrum , stating they no longer support TiVo and required me to rent their DVR's. So, check with Spectrum before buying a TiVo for cable.
