A: This works with an antenna only, it will not work with cable.
Q: I HAVE SPECTRUM NOW AND THEIR DVR. CAN I REPLACE THE DVR WITH TIVO?
A: You can. It will require a tuning adapter and a cable card provided by Spectrum so you will be able to receive all of your subscribed channels. But yes, you can use this dvr in place of theirs.
Q: Are new apps able to be downloaded to this device?
A: You can download new apps if TiVo makes them available. You are able to go into their library and download any streaming app that they make available with their license.
Q: how many channels will record at one time
A: This unit has 2 tuners, so you can record 2 shows at once or record one show while watching another.
A: Same exact situation....my old DVR died and called the Tivo and agent transferred the lifetime subscription to another DVR box. This was few years ago. Give it a try. Good luck!
A: No. The Tivo Edge only records OTA programming. You can stream Netflix, but you can't record it.
